Friday night we drove to Orlando to spend the weekend with friends at Disney. We brought along our Advent beers for the two nights so we wouldn't be behind!
Friday, the 11th.... our choice from Craft Beer Cellar was an interesting selection from the United Kingdom called Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale. It was like dessert in a bottle!
This selection, from Wells & Youngs Ltd was an English Brown Ale, with 5% alcohol and a very sweet taste. I liked it, Todd said he wouldn't want a lot of it, it was different....but the flavors were good, just not something we expect in a beer.
This beer had a toffee/caramel scent and is pretty sweet at first and then becomes a little hoppy with a taste of It was definitely not something I would have picked off the shelf to try, which is why this Advent box is so much fun! I have definitely found things I would try again and things I think I know for sure to sway away from :)
Wells has been brewing since 1876 brewing 28 different beers, among them a Double Chocolate Stout and a Banana Bread beer. They also have a beer named Waggle Dance-a pale ale with a South American honey. Sounds good to me! On a plus note for them, and something that Todd will find interesting when he reads this is that they also brew Kirin Ichiban, his 'sushi dinner beer'.... good stuff!
All in all this was pretty good, but definitely a dessert beer. Excuse the glass, we had to work with what we had in the hotel! :) :)

Don't be afraid to check this one out! Locally, at Craft Beer Cellar in Brandon or check it out at Brass Tap in Ybor or in Wesley Chapel as well as Ed's Tavern in Lakewood Ranch!
